THE 5D TATTOO MENTORSHIP

For Serious Tattoo Artists Ready to Develop Their Style, Master Advanced Techniques, and Command Higher Value for Their Work.
The Problem Most Tattoo Artists Face
“A million followers might look impressive online, but it doesn’t automatically translate to money, clients, or a sustainable career.”
Many talented tattoo artists hit a point where their work stops progressing.
Not because they lack dedication, but because they lack direct critique, advanced technical guidance, and exposure to higher-level artistic approaches.
Most artists learn through trial and error inside a small circle of influence. Over time this can lead to repeating the same habits, styles, and limitations without realizing it.
Another common misconception is that success in tattooing depends on social media numbers, conventions, or constant promotion.
In reality, the artists who consistently earn the most often focus on something far more important:
Developing work that stands out.
When your tattoos have strong composition, unique artistic identity, and refined technical execution, your work naturally attracts attention and demand.
This program is particularly valuable for artists running private studios.
When you own a studio, the level of your work sets the tone for the entire environment.
Improving your design, realism execution, and artistic direction raises the standard for your clients and the artists around you.
Higher quality work attracts higher quality clients, which allows you to charge appropriately and operate your studio in a way that supports your life rather than burning you out.
The “Fleas in a Jar” Glass Ceiling Analogy
There’s a well-known experiment used to explain learned limitations.
Scientists placed fleas inside a glass jar and sealed it with a lid. Fleas can naturally jump very high, but every time they jumped, they hit the lid. After repeatedly hitting the glass ceiling, the fleas gradually adjusted how high they jumped so they wouldn’t hit the lid anymore.
After some time, the lid was removed.
But something interesting happened.
The fleas never jumped out of the jar, even though they physically could. They had learned a limit and adjusted their behavior to stay under it. Eventually, even the next generation of fleas only jumped to that same height, despite never experiencing the lid themselves.
The limitation had become psychological rather than physical.
How This Applies to Artists
Many artists unknowingly operate the same way.
At some point, they encounter invisible “ceilings”:
-
people telling them what’s realistic
-
industry gatekeeping
-
fear of rejection
-
limiting beliefs about money, clients, or success
-
hearing “that’s just how the industry works”
After enough of those experiences, artists begin to adjust their ambitions downward.
They stop pushing higher.
They stop trying certain opportunities.
They stay within what feels “safe” or familiar.
Not because they can’t go further, but because they’ve been conditioned to believe that’s where the ceiling is.
The reality is that many of those ceilings don’t actually exist anymore.
The lid was removed a long time ago.
But many artists are still jumping as if it’s there.
The Lesson
Real growth begins when you start questioning the limits you’ve accepted.
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough isn’t learning something new — it’s realizing that the ceiling you thought was holding you back was never really there.
“Most artists aren’t held back by lack of talent — they’re held back by glass ceilings they cant see”
The Opportunity
Styles such as advanced color surrealism and large-scale artistic tattooing are among the most sought-after and highest valued styles in the industry.
Why?
Because they require a level of design understanding, color control, and technical execution that most artists never fully develop.
When executed well, these tattoos have strong visual impact, depth, and originality, which allows artists to command significantly higher rates and attract clients who travel specifically for their work.
Many artists working in these styles routinely book full-day sessions at premium rates because their work stands apart from the average.
What This Mentorship Is Designed To Do
This mentorship and artist advisory program is built to help artists develop the technical and artistic foundations required to create that level of work.
Through weekly mentorship and direct critique, we focus on:
• Advanced color techniques
• Surrealist composition and design flow
• Strong focal points and visual impact
• Saturation, depth, and technical execution
• Developing a recognizable artistic style
The goal is not just improvement — it's helping you build tattoos that command attention and demand.
WHAT “5D” REPRESENTS
The 5D framework focuses on the five dimensions that determine the trajectory of a tattoo artist’s career.
Most artists only focus on one dimension — technique.
But long-term growth comes from developing all five.
Dimension 1 — Design
Develop stronger compositions, flow, and visual storytelling so your tattoos feel intentional rather than simply copied references.
Dimension 2 — Depth
Master realism depth, contrast, and layering so tattoos hold up over time and photograph with impact.
Dimension 3 — Discipline
Build the professional habits, work ethic, and consistency required to move beyond average-level work.
Dimension 4 — Direction
Refine your artistic identity so your portfolio becomes recognizable and attracts the type of clients you want.
Dimension 5 — Development
Position your career for long-term growth through pricing strategy, client experience, and artistic evolution.
WHY MENTORSHIP MATTERS
Every successful entrepreneur, leader, or professional has had mentors.
Not because they weren’t capable.
Because they understood that progress becomes faster when someone experienced is guiding the path.
Mentorship shortens the distance between where you are and where you want to go.
It provides clarity when things feel uncertain.
And it keeps you accountable when motivation fades.
HOW THIS PROGRAM IS DIFFERENT
Most learning formats give you short-term exposure.
A course gives information.
A seminar gives inspiration.
A community gives discussion.
Traditional mentorship gives occasional guidance.
The 5D Tattoo Mentorship provides something different:
Direct advisory access over time while your work evolves.
Instead of guessing whether you're improving, you can:
Send work for critique
Ask questions between tattoos
Discuss design decisions before starting pieces
Work through creative blocks
Refine realism technique
Improve portfolio direction
Position yourself to attract higher-level clients
This process allows real growth because your brain has time to:
Try something
Process feedback
Return with better questions
Improve again
That cycle is what produces lasting development.
Income Growth Through Skill Development
In many cases, the difference between an artist earning $300–$400 days and one earning $1,000+ days is not social media popularity.
It's the perceived value of the work itself.
When your tattoos demonstrate:
• strong design
• unique artistic identity
• high-level execution
clients are willing to pay more and travel further to work with you.
Many successful tattoo artists operate with relatively small online followings because their reputation is built on the quality and originality of their work.
And contrary to what many believe, you do not need to constantly attend conventions to do high-level, interesting tattoos.
Artists who develop strong portfolios and recognizable styles often attract clients directly to their studio.
“The moment you invest in yourself, the world starts treating you seriously.”

REALISTIC CAREER TRANSFORMATION
Many artists start around $300–$400 per tattoo.
At that level, an artist might make roughly:
$75,000 per year before expenses.
When the quality of work, portfolio direction, and confidence in pricing improves, many artists begin charging $1,000+ per tattoo.
At that level, the same artist could reach:
$190,000+ per year before expenses.
That difference can exceed $100,000 annually.
The mentorship investment becomes small compared to the long-term impact on a 20–30 year career.
Why RuubenArt
Tattooing has been my life’s work for over 15 years, 9 of which I’ve traveled the world tattooing winning awards, being in magazines, learning, and working alongside some of the most respected artists in the industry.
During that time I’ve had the opportunity to work with, learn from, and even be tattooed by many of the artists who helped shape modern tattooing. Those experiences exposed me to a wide range of techniques, artistic approaches, and philosophies that go far beyond what most artists ever encounter.
Through years of dedication, experimentation, and constant refinement of my craft, I’ve developed my own approach to tattooing that blends strong technical execution, advanced color work, and surrealist composition to create tattoos with depth, impact, and a recognizable artistic identity.
But what truly accelerated my growth as an artist was not just experience — it was learning directly from artists operating at the highest levels of the craft.
That same kind of guidance is what this mentorship is built around.
The last 5 years I have been helping as many artists as I can to better themselves as an artist.
This program gives artists direct access to the knowledge, techniques, and artistic thinking that took years of travel, collaboration, and real-world tattooing to develop.
If you're serious about improving your work, refining your style, and pushing your tattooing to a higher level, this mentorship provides the critique, insight, and guidance needed to make that happen.
THE LONG-TERM VALUE
-
The goal is not simply better tattoos.
-
The goal is becoming the type of artist who naturally produces higher-level work.
-
Better work attracts better clients.
-
Better clients allow higher pricing.
-
Higher pricing creates freedom in how you structure your career.
-
The skills developed during mentorship continue compounding for decades.
BEFORE APPLYING
Most of the world’s elite tattoo artists aren’t accessible anymore.
They’re booked out. They’re building brands. They’re running studios, traveling, judging conventions. The reality is—they’re not taking on one-on-one mentorships. At best, you might get a pre-recorded course, a seminar, or a quick workshop. Valuable, sure—but limited.
What you don’t get is access.
You don’t get feedback.
You don’t get real guidance tailored to you.
That’s where I come in.
I’ve spent over 15 years in this industry—working alongside top-tier artists, learning their methods, understanding how they think, how they build, how they execute at the highest level. I’ve been in the rooms most people never get into.
This mentorship isn’t a course.
It’s not passive.
It’s not surface-level.
It’s 6 months of direct access—like having someone in your corner who actually knows how this game works.
You’re not just learning techniques.
You’re learning decision-making.
You’re learning how professionals operate behind the scenes.
You’re learning how to level up properly, without wasting years figuring it out alone.
Think of it less like a program…
and more like having an experienced artist in your circle—guiding you, correcting you, pushing you.
If you can’t get the elite artists themselves,
the next best thing is someone who’s been right there with them—and knows exactly how they do it.

Growth in tattooing is not always comfortable.
Sometimes the most important breakthroughs come after hearing things you didn’t want to hear or realizing habits that need to change.
You have to be able to sit with that, process it, and come back stronger.
I can guide you, help you see things you might not see yet, and give direction — but I can’t do the work for you.
And I can’t take on artists who have low teachability or who quit when things get difficult.
The artists who get the most out of mentorship are the ones who stay in the process even when it’s challenging.
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR

-
Artists looking for shortcuts
